Michael Bonnot - Drums The Domestics formed in October 1996 after Gubera and Stevenson moved to Columbia from Joplin to attend MU. They posted fliers advertising for a bass player and drummer with the desire to take over the world. Mike Farmer and Michael Bonnot answered, and the Domestics were born. With a name taken from the credits of "Mary Poppins" the Domestics play a mixture of punk, pop, and rock with surf undertones. It's fun, high energy stuff", Gubera said. The band has already recorded two albums, "We're Not Imported" and "Disturbance" and they now have a full length CD out titled, "International Sugar Heroes". In December of 1997, "We're Not Imported" was one of the Top Ten Local Rock Releases of 1997 by Shane Dolbier and the Pitch. Although the band commonly shares influences like Weezer, Pixies, and Screeching Weasel, song writing comes differently to Stevenson and Gubera. "I write from personal experiences, and he just makes shit up", Stevenson said.
