The Glitter Kick's full length CD "Love Everything" is now available! Below is a review by R.J. Johnson, the local stringer for MTV. All right, I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for pop music. If you ask me, too many negative vibes are being emitted from our televisions and other forms of media. We could all use a little music with an upbeat rhythm, to clear out the cobwebs surrounding our souls. We all need something to spark the sassy attitude within that helps us cope with the fact that we've been dumped, or that we're intimidated by the rest of the world. Whether or not we admit it to ourselves, the fact remains that we all feel weak and vulnerable at times, and we all need comfort. I'll tell you what we need. We need THE GLITTER KICKS Scheduled for an early August release, THE GLITTER KICKS' first full-length CD will be entitled Love Everything. I have sampled eight of the tracks from the album, and I must first and foremost say thank you to THE GLITTER KICKS. Thank you for bringing back pop. And, most importantly, thank you for providing much-needed upbeat rhythms for the soul. Love Everything is going to be packed with heart-filled pop music that will take us back to the days when DEBBIE GIBSON and TIFFANY dominated the airwaves. This is a good thing, mind you. Songs such as "Impressed" lend a sassy attitude to the world. Lead singer Tawni Freeland taunts us with her sarcastic utterings of "I'm so impressed with you." She admits the song is addressed to the boys in the crowd who feel the need to ask her to show them her "assets," so to speak. "Fourth of July" is a masterpiece in itself. The use of echoing feedback, and Ed Rose's screeching guitar riffs, are a great backdrop for a song with a great concept. "Kick Me" seems to be a plea for self-control, in which Freeland can be heard repeating the lyric "I'm down" several times, followed by the line "You can kick me now." From what I have heard, the album will not be lacking in any category. The pounding percussions of drummer Craig Haning, backed by the hard-hitting bass lines of Chris Wagner, provide the perfect outline to be filled in by amazing guitarist Ed Rose. All of the songs are guaranteed to blow you away, while providing therapy for those of you who feel trapped in current relationships. Packed with high energy and emotion, Love Everything is sure to be a hit this fall around the local music scene. Make sure you check out THE GLITTER KICKS and get your daily dose of pop!
