Grovel first formed in the fall of 1992, in a southern Kansas City, Missouri suburb called Raymore.

Common musical tastes and attitudes brought together Bradley Hodgson, vocalist and guitarist, and Keanon Liggatt, guitarist...whom you could refer to as Grovel's "founding" members. Grovel began to create and emanate a sound that developed into a young naive energy...but under the surface, waiting to be scratched by time's nails lied more emotion, intensity, complication, and romanticism than we could ever imagine.

With the addition of a polite third guitarist, John Ferguson, a very talented and focused bass player, Mark Johnson, and straight-forward powerful drummer, Brian Frisbie, grovel has developed into a wall of noise: melody, harmony, emotion, love, frustration, and an expression of it's members for the woes of life itself.

Grovel is complicated, intelligent song structures, poetic lyrics, personal intent and content, and strong rhythms abound, held together by the glue that is our common intention as musicians and artists, to express and perform what is in our hearts and minds for the interpretation of listeners and watchers.  Live shows are the anchor of our passion for our music...catharsis for the performer and hopefully the audience.  we hope to get our music into as many willing ears as possible, sign to an independent music label, and make music until we fall over dead.

Comparisons?  As far as influencing our sound, we'll list Sonic Youth, HUM, and Sunny Day Real Estate...although none of us really approve of direct comparisons, we try as hard as we can to create a unique sound for our very unique feelings that are smothered all over our music.
