![]() Sadly, nasa's little secret is no more. We here at the Zone mourn their passing, and hope that they someday continue to make music in another form. We congratulate Matt on his moving to the drum riser of "Shallow". - Joe Nasa's Little Secret is a quartet consisting of David Gaume, guitar/vocals, Thomas Kehr, bass, Scott Stone, keyboards, and Matt Fitzgerald, drums. They reside in sunny Overland Park, KS, a suburb of Kansas City . They have been together a couple of years now. I guess they'd be categorized as a space/rock hybrid. Their main influences are heavily in britpop land- Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine, Verve, Slowdive, Spacemen 3, and like-minded American bands- Hum, Medicine, and a bunch of others. However, They don't like to pigeonhole their influences into a certain category... Dave is a big John Coltrane and Claude DeBussy freak..... Tom has given up on rock n' roll altogether and writes arrangements of Gustav Holst pieces at ungodly hours.... Matt thinks EAR and FSA rock HARD and listens to oldies sometimes... Scott is a BIG Doors and Pumpkins and Cure freak, and plays a mean Les Paul in addition to his keyboard wizardry for NLS.
Dave is at K-State in the fall, while the other three are attending Johnson County Comm. College (also lovingly known as the University of Overland Park, SM South University, etc..). They plan to continue making music forever though, so don't worry. The live show is the essence of Nasa's Little Secret, from deafening washes of guitar bliss over pounding drum/bass grooves to moments of calm serenity. They always manage to work in a couple instrumental bliss-out jams into every set. They love the music they make, and would never have it any other way. Heads are slowly turning and people are listening. They hope to see you at a show soon, so you may join them as they fly deeper into space on their odyssey toward the perfect sound wave...
