I, understand that the purpose of Oorah in general and The Zone, Boys Division in particular, is to do Kiruv . I further understand that Oorah and The Zone do not do Kiruv , rather the yechidim that make up Oorah and The Zone do the Kiruv . In the Zone, Boys Division, this is primarily accomplished through the Torah mate program, where each staff member is responsible for one or two campers. He is there to be there for them during the summer and throughout the year. He can learn, do homework or just schmooze with his Torah Mate. The most important part is to maintain a connection. The purpose of Oorah and The Zone, Boys Division is to give me the means to develop a relationship with my Torah Mate and to help me do Kiruv. With this in mind, I commit myself, Bli Neder, to keep up with my Torah Mate throughout the year (usually over the phone). We recommend a minimum of 30 minutes a week.
I also commit myself, Bli Neder, to update the Torah Mates mashpia once a month on how I am keeping up with my Torah Mate. Additionally, I commit myself, Bli Neder, that in the event that my Torah Mate is unable or does not want to keep up with me, I will contact the Torah Mate office and volunteer for a new Torah Mate.
